Growing Jobs in Our Communities!

Our vision is to bring back the spirit of working the land and create job opportunities in our communities.

The vision is to be a Food & Processing Manufacturing entity, our immediate focus is mainly in the rural areas for the people to go back to growing their own food especially because they currently have the land and it has always been a lifelong tradition from generations past. Over the year’s people in rural areas have stopped ploughing their fields due to economic and other various reason, this has resulted to an increase in poverty and some have lost their jobs from the big cities due to the negative shift in the economy of our country.

Live Stock Farming in South Africa

When it comes to slaughtering facilities, there is a shortage in South Africa – a situation that is limiting the growth of the industry. The abattoirs usually obtain a license however, must be appropriately registered for the type of animals slaughtered. The facilities should use specialised equipment that meets the right standards.

The animals should be kept in very clean conditions, and the slaughtering process should be uncomplicated and more hygienic.

Why organic animal meat?

The organic meat production makes economic sense because the requirements by the world health organization are against genetically modified food products and therefore we see that there is a market for such animals. The reason for the meat processing plant is that we have established that there is a market for it and we plan to maximise the opportunities for farmed meat protein products.

Costs to setting up operations are very costly especially because we must get all the required compliance certification with the relevant bodies. Land and water are a serious requirement coupled with labour as we know that in South Africa we have high unemployment rates specially for the youth.

There are great opportunities in this sector, especially for emerging farmers, and government agencies are interested in playing an active role in the development of this sector.

Breeding

“Specialised breeds for meat and production have evolved over the past hundred years. With beef cattle, have a high proportion of muscle to bone and are fast maturing. In some countries, there are performance testing programmes that measure feed conversion and other production traits for breeding purposes,” Meat production breeds that deliver a consistent carcass are preferred. The focus is on natural breeding and rearing techniques to steer clear of competition related to yields and growth patterns. This is something rabbits do very well all on their own.

Genetics

South Africa has been very fortunate to have excellent stock, preserved over the years through the stockman ship of certain breeders, through centralised management, taking control of the herds and their origins.

Market opportunities

There are local and international markets for the South African meat. Any exported meat must meet international standards. In addition, there is a smaller local market and a possibility for this sector to grow in the near future.

Products are exported whole and frozen. If needed, meat can be portioned and packed as per the client’s requirements, “Ready-to-eat products may be available in future. Products for social cooking will attract retail customers.
